In 2018, the Side by Side Project launched as an immersive, searchable web archive of 100 full-length, filmed stories from 100 subjects born 1944–1995, representing 60+ years of inter-country adoption out of South Korea, and an unprecedented breadth of geography, experiences, and outcomes.
Founded in 1998, KAAN (Korean American Adoptee Adoptive Family Network) is an all-volunteer organization that is a special project under The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, fiscal sponsor. Our mission is to improve the lives of Korean-born and inter-country adoptees by connecting the community and providing opportunities for dialogue, education, and support.
